For a delicious start to the day and an exotic twist on boring old porridge try this - make a syrup out of a small amt of water, honey, cinnamon stick, lemongrass stick and a few drops of rosewater on the stove. Simmer over a low heat for about 5 mins and let cool (this cam be done the day before and left in the fridge). Slice figs through the top and.place in an oven tray covered in the syrup and bake at 200 degrees celcius for about 10 mins. Meanwhile cook your porridge as you usually would with 2 cardamon pods, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pop your figs on top and you are ready to eat! This recipe does not call for exact measures. Adjust for taste or the amt of people you are feeding. Breakfast does not need to be boring!
